Enoteca La Torre just might be Rome’s most beautiful restaurant. Set within Villa Laetita, an elegant turn-of-the-century villa owned by Anna Fendi Venturini, the Michelin-starred restaurant offers a superlative dining experience in a seriously stunning setting. The villa is built in the Renaissance and Baroque style and features a gorgeous art deco window in the dining room, allowing light to flood in and illuminate stucco features, frescoes and intricate marble designs. And with an innovative menu, beautifully presented dishes and warm hospitality, it makes for a memorable meal. If you’re looking for a restaurant to celebrate a special occasion, it’s hard to think of a better location than this.
Enoteca La Torre is helmed by Domenico Stile, a dynamic young chef from Campania who honed his culinary skills in the kitchens of Massimo Bottura, Enrico Crippa, Grant Achatz and Nino di Costanza. His dishes reflect a passion for the flavors and ingredients of his native region, complemented by umami and exotic flavors inspired by Asian cuisines. Buffalo milk cheeses, lemon and seafood feature prominently on the menu though you’ll also find ingredients such as umebosh, wasabi, green curry and fermented foods. Look out for tantalizing options like Vanilla-marinated scampi with apricots, rocket and buffalo milk ricotta, Risotto with lemon, sea truffles, asparagus and buffalo milk yogurt, and Soy-marinated duck with chutney of Vesuvian peaches and radicchio.
Enoteca La Torre also boasts a cellar with 1,000 bottles of Italian and international wines and offers 150 wines by the glass. The restaurant has two tasting menus: “Excursion” (5 surprise courses for €95) or “A journey with eyes closed” (7 surprise courses for €130). Diners can also opt to order à la carte or stop by for a three-course weekday lunch tasting menu priced at €60. Be sure to stroll through the property’s gardens and stop by the frescoed tea room for an aperitif before dinner your meal. The glass tables reflect the ceiling and will make you feel as if you’re sitting in a jewelry box!
